A fractional PR executive, not a cold list

The client is a fractional PR executive. I run done-for-you LinkedIn outreach for her as part of my networking service for fractionals and consultants.

Important detail: the outreach is networking only. There is no sales pitch baked into the messages. The goal is the right conversations with the right people, not a scripted ask on first contact.

A direct response that keeps paying

She landed a project as a direct response to that outreach. The work is ongoing: more than $5,000 a month for the foreseeable future.

I call that a fantastic return on investment for the work I did for her. I am not claiming every engagement looks identical. I am pointing at a concrete case where networking-only outreach produced recurring revenue for the client.

Why systematic networking beats hoping

Outcomes like hers sit on a wider pattern. Consultancy Growth Network’s 2022 BenchPress study of 254 independent consultancies found referrals were the top source of new clients (41 percent), yet only 12 percent of firms had fully implemented a referral strategy—and those that had were more likely to grow more than 25 percent year over year. Hinge’s professional-services research found that 81.5 percent of firms had received a referral from someone who was not even a former client, which is the kind of introduction networking partners are built to create.

LinkedIn’s Trust Advantage research on Sales Navigator customers who took more trust-building actions on the platform reported closing about 20 percent more deals at deal values about 41 percent larger than comparable teams. Relationship work is not soft padding around a pipeline. It shows up in revenue when someone actually runs the process.

Why I shared it

I shared the story to spread the word, and because I had room for more clients at the time. The underlying idea matches how I describe the service on this site: a real person running a repeatable networking process so referrals are not left to chance.

If that kind of outreach would help your practice, read the LinkedIn BizDev page or book a networking chat.
