A site for two kinds of work

As a marketer for more than thirty years, I have lived through a lot of website builds. I managed and worked with many people shipping sites; only a few early projects were built by me personally.

brianpetro.com is different because it is mine. It explains the fractional CMO/CRO leadership I offer, and the done-for-you LinkedIn outreach help I provide for consultants and fractionals who need networking support that actually moves sales conversations forward.

Hard-coded on purpose

The site is written in native web code. There is no page-builder platform underneath it. My point is practical: that approach is harder to hack and loads fast.

The first version came together quickly. I handed a developer about a page and a half of direction on look and intent, plus documentation I already had for the two services, and the site was published the same day—less than a day’s work by my estimate, though I have not confirmed the exact hours with the developer.

AI is speeding builds—and raising the bar

That same-day ship is less surprising than it would have been a few years ago. AI is taking over large parts of how web work gets done. Stack Overflow’s 2025 Developer Survey found that 84 percent of respondents were using or planning to use AI tools in their development process, up from 76 percent the year before, and that 51 percent of professional developers already used those tools daily.

Controlled research points the same way on speed. In a 2022 GitHub Copilot experiment published in 2023, Sida Peng and colleagues timed developers building a small JavaScript HTTP server: the group with Copilot finished about 55.8 percent faster than the control group. Usage does not erase judgment. In the same Stack Overflow survey, more developers said they actively distrust AI output accuracy than trust it—which is exactly why my own workflow still runs SEO and accessibility checks instead of trusting a prompt alone.

Changes by conversation, with guardrails

The build is hooked to an AI agent I already use. When I want a new page, different copy, or a swapped image, I can ask the agent and the change gets made.

Those updates are not unchecked. The workflow also looks for SEO and accessibility optimization as part of the process—so speed does not mean skipping the quality bar the live site is supposed to hold.
